About This Blog

I am an amateur blogger and that’s just about as much as you need to know.

Partly because there are some very strange and angry people out there.

Partly because the more I present of myself the more it clouds the meaning. I try not to use labels for people I interact with and I prefer it if people who come to this Blog read it for its own sake and not for a label they agree or disagree with.

I blog about matters of interest to me – primarily about UK politics. We live in extraordinary times: a time of change where many of the accepted norms and values are being challenged and eroded. The far right are on the rise. Where once they were simply thugs and lunatics on the fringe they are now emboldened, organised and aggressive – and they’re making a concerted bid to take over the political landscape. They have succeeded to a great degree. How far and how permanent their rise will be only history can tell. This is not insider knowledge but how it looks to me as a punter, a voter with a keen political interest.

I’ve got to get it written down in order to analyse, assess and comprehend what is happening.

You’ll find a Blogs link above where each blog posts is listed in reverse chronological order. Most of them have got links to supportive or source material, some appended and some, particularly later blogs, embedded in the text itself in coloured font. Click on them for more detail.

There’s also a Contact page where you can leave me a message if you wish. Or you can contact me on Twitter @SquidCynical. If you like any post please share it with others; or give it a ‘Like’ or, better still, leave a comment. If you become a raving fanatic you can also Follow me by clicking the little blue box and that will let you have notifications when a new post is published.

It will help to make my sad and purposeless life worthwhile.
